Retail Growth
Penn Township's population growth has driven the expansion of the retail
needs of the community. These businesses include grocery stores, retail shops, pizza shops, and pharmacies.
Although most of the development has occurred along the Harrison City/Export corridor, smaller developments at different locations along the Route 130 corridor have also opened up or will be open later this year.
Office Buildings
Several office buildings have located within the township. With access to Pittsburgh via several major highways and a continual migration from the higher taxes in Allegheny County, Penn Township is an attractive location for many employers whose employees like the rural nature of the community.
Market Patterns
Commercial development is expanding to meet the needs of a growing community. These retail and professional services have been led by local business owners who have expanded their current businesses or have purchased franchises from both regional and national operations.
A Giant Eagle has been open for several years in the community and will open a Get Go pump station in fall of 2008. The Westmoreland Community Credit Union is working through the review and approval process and will soon break ground soon on a new branch office.
Available Sites
Penn Township has both
developed and undeveloped sites available. These sites are either for sale or for rent. in different areas of the township. Each site has its own unique market conditions that each investor will have to evaluate on their own.
