Rural Atmosphere
Farming continues in several areas of Penn Township, and this rural character continues
to attract people to move to our community. With a close proximity to jobs in Monroeville, Pittsburgh, and Cranberry, Penn Township provides a rural retreat from the congestion and crowding of these other communities.
Recreation
Penn Township has great
recreation opportunities at our schools and in our parks and though such organizations as the Penn Trafford Area Recreation Commission and the Penn-Trafford Adult Education. Both offer a wide range of programs for children to senior citizens in a variety of different categories.
In addition, commercial exercise centers have opened in the community to meet needs not met by public facilities, and both public and private golf courses meet another niche in the recreation market.
Education
The Penn Trafford School District has a great
reputation for quality education in preparing our youth for vocational or college studies.
Westmoreland County Community College has a campus in the township, which offers college credit and non-credit courses at a discount for all county residents .
Housing
Penn Township has housing options for almost every need and has ongoing developments for townhomes, patio homes, a golf course community, and single family homes in agricultural and residential neighborhoods.
Also, assisted living centers and long-term care facilities have been a growing segment of our residential population.
Although residential development is growing at a slower pace then a decade ago, we are always willing to discuss your ideas to develop residentially zoned property.
